Users may need a biological mesh with different size FDTD cells than our two meshes.
This may be useful if calculations at lower or higher frequencies are desired, or if
the standard size meshes do not fit into available computer memory. Or it may be desirable
to tilt the meshes at some angle. This allows the device, such as a portable telephone,
to align with the FDTD mesh. Remcom now provides a special Remesh and Rotate
Module that allows the user to customize the standard human body and head/
shoulders meshes that we provide. With the Remesh and Rotate Module the mesh
cell size may be changed and the mesh may be tilted or rotated in any direction.
This may be done repeatedly, so that you may produce any number of custom biological
meshes with the Remesh and Rotate Module. You may also adjust the free
space margin around the meshes and specify different FDTD cell dimensions in
different directions to "stretch" the meshes. In addition to the Remesh function,
the Remesh and Rotate Module also provides an "unrotation" for the far zone steady
state radiation patterns. For example, perhaps the head has been tilted forward 60
degrees but it is desired that the far zone pattern is calculated as if the head
were still vertical. The Remesh and Rotate Module provides this function. Note
that when the Remesh and Rotate Module is used to make smaller mesh cells, they
are made from the original Remcom biological meshes. This means that the smaller mesh
cells, while allowing for higher frequency calculations, do not provide increased fidelity.
Also, the Remesh and Rotate Module is intended for use with irregular dielectric objects,
such as the biological meshes. It may not provide accurate rotated meshes for
smooth flat surfaces or for structures with fine detail, such as wires or thin plates.
